Dima has this habit of speaking English at diplomatic functions…
I will stand by my earlier statement: there is nothing cuter than Putin’s English, not even Dima eating a watermelon. It’s just so unexpectedly high-pitched and bubbly. And he’ll still try to do all those dramatic pauses like he does in Russian, but he’ll do them in the wrong parts of a sentence so it comes off all goofy. And the facial expressions he makes as he tries to wrap his mouth around the pronunciation! ahhhhhhhhhhh SO KAWAII!

I know at bilateral talks/meetings and international conferences you’re supposed to talk in your native language. After all, you’re there to represent your country. That is why they have translators. But Dima doesn’t like to wait. He gets too excited and will start chatting away in English much to the embarrassment of his staff. oh dima…
