Aliyev had received a letter from President Medvedev telling him that if Azerbaijan supported the designation of the Bolshevik artificial famine in Ukraine as “genocide” at the United Nations, “then you can forget about seeing Nagorno-Karabakh ever again.”

But I don’t know much about the official standpoint of the Kremlin towards the Holodomor. They don’t deny it, but reject it as a genocide? I dunno.
Nor do I know exactly how much sway Russia holds in the Nagorno-Karabakh issue. They’re involved in talks with Armenia and Azerbaijan, but the power to take Azerbaijan out? I durn think so.
